Making the Most of Summer at Guthrie House

We've had a wonderful summer here at Guthrie House, making the most of the warmer months with a variety of outings and opportunities to spend time together.

One of our recent trips took us to Dobbies Garden Centre, where residents enjoyed a relaxing stop for coffee and cake before exploring everything the garden centre had to offer. With plenty of beautiful plants to admire, we also picked up some inspiration for our own garden back at the home.

Our weekly visits to the local kirk for coffee and cake have remained a firm favourite, giving residents something to look forward to each week.

We've also added a new outing to our diary with regular visits to the local senior club. Residents have loved meeting new people and joining in with a good sing-song, with some even taking to the dance floor!

At Guthrie House, we know how important it is to enjoy an active and fulfilling lifestyle, with plenty of opportunities to build friendships and share meaningful experiences. Our regular outings help residents stay connected with the local community while enjoying familiar routines and discovering new interests.

Whether it's catching up over a cup of coffee or sharing a dance with friends, these moments bring plenty of smiles and laughter. We're delighted to support residents in making the most of each day and look forward to many more enjoyable outings together.

If you're looking for a compassionate and supportive care home in Edinburgh, the friendly team here at Guthrie House would love to meet you. Please arrange a tour today to see what makes our home so special.
